Barbie Parsons, better known in welding circles and social media as “Barbie the Welder,” is a self-taught artist, author, and motivational speaker known for her unique welded sculpture and life-sized metal creations.

Chicago Pneumatic has welcomed Barbie Parsons to its family of sponsored athletes and fabricators. Parsons, better known in welding circles and social media as “Barbie the Welder,” is a self-taught artist, author, and motivational speaker known for her unique welded sculpture and life-sized metal creations.

She began her career as a sheet metal fabricator before committing to work full-time as an independent artist in 2014. Since then she has created commissioned art for individuals and corporations, and her work has been on display at tradeshows and exhibits around the country.

Parsons has created a one-of-a-kind metal sculpture for the Chicago Pneumatic booth at the 2019 FABTECH show in Chicago, Nov. 11-14. Along the way, she documented the creative process on social media and showcased the Chicago Pneumatic industrial tools she used in the making of the piece.

The WELDER, formerly known as Practical Welding Today, is a showcase of the real people who make the products we use and work with every day. This magazine has served the welding community in North America well for more than 20 years.
