Goudsmit Magnetics has developed a fail-safe sheet separator that provides automatic separation of steel sheets up to about 4 mm thick. The machine is equipped with neodymium magnets and can be switched on and off pneumatically via magnet rotation.
According to the company, the separator is the only one of its kind with a spring-actuated off position. It automatically switches to the off position even if the compressed air supply is interrupted. The magnet cannot accidentally remain switched on during maintenance.
The switchable sheet separator also allows interim changeover of products during a set process. It separates steel sheets of almost any shape, length, or width, including round and asymmetrical shapes.
