The all-new 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V was unveiled a month ago, and now the company is preparing to launch it into mass production. This vehicle definitely deserves attention and should not go unnoticed by buyers, because it takes a unique place in its segment.
Cadillac Escalade Chief Engineer, Mike Symons, believes there is not anything else on the market quite like the Escalade-V, primarily meaning the U.S. market, as reported by Muscle Cars & Trucks.
This model is one of the most powerful vehicles ever built by General Motors, and, definitely, it will be the most powerful 3-row SUV on sale in America, and the best performance SUV option on those shores. Why? – Due to the upgraded 6.2-liter 8-cylinder LT4 engine that produces 682 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 653 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm.
The unit pairs a 10-speed automatic transmission sending power to four wheels. The AWD system splits the torque between the front and rear axles depending on conditions. It is never completely rear-biased: some torque always goes to the front wheels for grip.
In addition to the potent powertrain, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V benefits from the latest Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 fastest-reacting suspension technology, six-piston Brembo brakes, Bridgestone Aleza all-season tires on 22-inch wheels, the latest Super Cruise, a number of modes to switch between, like Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice.
The Escalade-V also features a specific V-Mode: this is a new ride control system that automatically lowers ground clearance by 0.8 inches (20mm) and enables other adjustments, including Launch Control.
The 6,217-pound vehicle speeds up from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 sec and does the quarter-mile sprint in 12.74 sec at the speed of 110 mph. It is clear this large SUV can pull a trailer. The towing capacity is 7,000 pounds (3,175 kg), and the payload is 1,330 pounds (603 kg).
The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V reaches dealerships this summer. Its price starts at $149,990. An ESV version with an extended wheelbase is also in the pipeline to be offered later in limited quantity.
By comparison, the entry-level all-wheel-drive Escalade costs $82,440 including a destination charge. The regular Escalade, by the way, is Cadillac’s best-selling vehicle in the United States, far ahead of other models of the brand.
