The Electra Kakau Go! is a new electric bike from the Trek Bicycle subsidiary. The cruiser has a 250 Wh battery which allows you to be assisted for up to 40 miles (~64 km), and a Hyena rear hub motor can assist you across three modes, with a top speed of 20 mph (~32 kph). A torque sensor on the bottom bracket automatically regulates the pedal assistance based on your output.

Also helping you to optimize your effort is patented Flat Foot Technology, which Electra claims improves your pedalling by allowing proper leg extension. The bike is equipped with 180 mm mechanical disc brakes and 27.5-in x 2.35-in balloon tires for a smooth ride. An LED controller allows you to check your power assistance and battery charge levels, plus the pedelec has a Spanniga LED headlight and alloy kickstand.

The e-bike takes inspiration from Polynesia and its surfing history; the step-over frame’s matte brown color represents the lava rock of the islands, and design accents on the bicycle are inspired by Kakau, traditional tattoo art. Electra also sells surfboard racks for its bikes, making it easier for you to transport your board to the beach. The bicycle has a 6061-T6 aluminum frame, with the vehicle weighing 47.8 lbs (~21.7 kg) overall; the pedelec can support a payload up to 300 lbs (~136 kg). You can currently buy the Kakau Go! e-bike in the US for US$1,799.99.
