Magnetic Analysis Corp. (MAC), a designer and producer of NDT instruments and systems since 1928, has acquired the assets of TacTic, a Division of Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI). Originally founded as TAC Technical Instrument Corp., the company became part of LTI’s operations in 2018.

The acquisition broadens MAC’s line of NDT systems to include automated and specialized immersion, “spin the tube” ultrasonic test systems to detect surface and subsurface defects in round tube, pipe, and bar. They are suitable for metal producers that need to test small batches of material or frequent diameter size changes.

TacTic operations in Trevose, Pa., will be moved to MAC’s Elmsford, N.Y., headquarters and manufacturing plant. Support will be handled through MAC’s existing field network of engineers and representatives.
