I think Chelsea’s issue is the egomaniac Tuchel and not Lukaku, look at them now.. we forgot Mason Mount was on the squad because of the coach, his nonsensical tactics and squad selection.
It just goes to show high possession of the ball and high number of passes are meaningless when most of them are backwards and sideways, aimless passing.
Tuchel is to blame for a lot of this but come on, that’s no excuse for the players to not put in effort and intensity. The defense that first half was sluggish and lacking in leadership. Azpilicueta was the biggest culprit of this despite being captain. Mount couldn’t give two flying f** about dropping and defending. The man only cared about attacking but wouldn’t drop and defend and would leave massive holes in the midfield which made things worse for the defense.

This is Tuchel Ball, he has taken some of the most exciting young players in the league in Pulisic and Mount specifically and he stopped playing 1 of them all together and neither of them are free to attack the way they used to. IT’s time to stop blaming only the players and put some where it belongs, TT needs to take responsibility as well. Ever since he took over it’s been the same problems, we can’t just sit here and just blame the players for doing what is asked of them. Sure if they’re perfect they’d get a few more chances but we can clearly see that this boring, blunt attack has been here since TT took over. If he was at training asking them to be more direct and not trying to pass the ball into the net like futsal you’d see that in games. Not only is his system and philosophy very pragmatic but u can clearly see his decisions as a manager can also be called into question.
Firstly the wingbacks are playing as wingers yet we don’t have any defensive stability in the mid, one CAM and a CM not known for his defensive ability. The way he utilized players also throwing them all over the place, what was Sterling ever a CM? This is the first I’ve seen it in his entire career, it’s clear that he underestimated them and the team paid for it. If this continues we can kiss top 4 goodbye, and please spare me all the excuses about sanction because that didn’t stop him from spending more than any other club out there. I don’t want to here about achievements he has 2 seasons ago that he took over half way through. Casemiro to Make a Champions League Impact at Manchester United
It’s a bittersweet moment in many aspects. Happy for Casemiro for getting the bag he deserves. And happy for RM for getting a large fee 60m back. And happy for Tchouameni he will get his chance to prove himself earlier than expected. The sad part is that Casemiro will be missed. Few expected him to be the first to leave among the trios, but RM are prepared and have solid young centers in Valverde, Camavinga and Tchouameni. They move forward, always forward for more glory and trophies.
For this and the next season it’s 10/10 for both clubs. Real gets money and can develop the young players faster while United will get world class cdm in their team who can help them a lot in the midfield especially when he is in his prime. Casemiro might play on top level for the next 3-4 years but I’m 100% sure he will play amazingly this and the next season. United now need gk who will be good backup for de Gea, new young attacker or winger(since we lost Greenwood) or just put Garnacho he is pretty good and we are good to go for this season.

Great signing – 9/10. We tend to forget that United and Real Madrid have a very good relationship. How many United players went to Real and vice-versa? Beckham, Van Nistelrooy, CR7, Chicharito, Angel di Maria, Varane. When you think Forest paid £42,5m for Gibbs-White, an unproven player, the Casemiro deal isn’t a bad one after all. Casemiro is a serial winner. And United need that kind of energy in midfield.
We don’t know how United plans to use Casemiro but, congrats they’ve got one of the underrated DMs and gem of a player, best CDM currently.. Madrid always struggles without Casemiro, he’s the backbone of Madrid’s defence that no one notices and talks about..
We all Expected the Varane signing to have a similar effect in defense. Don’t know why but I remain coy on this transfer. We Need one more signing along with Casemiro in midfield to make this signing a success. I felt the same when Varane was signed, that we needed one more player along with him for our defense to make sense. And again signing someone who has won everything too many times makes me question how hungry he is going to be for success and taking United to heights again.
